We all knew Fallout 4 would sell well. Ever since the game's release in November, it's been breaking records everywhere you looked.

Although Bethesda has yet to reveal any sales numbers, the publisher announced that 12 million copies were shipped to retail around launch.

At the time, various retailers said the game had the largest day one sales of any game release during the same year.

It seems digital storefronts, too, saw great success with Fallout 4. According to game director Todd Howard, speaking to Game Informer, the game's day one digital sales have outpaced those at retail.

"One of the things that is amazing: Fallout 4 sold more day one digitally than at retail," he told the site. "That's a big change."

Bethesda recently detailed its plan for DLC releases. The first of which comes out in March.
