Facebook launches mobile games publishing initiative

Facebook is getting into mobile games publishing, it has announced. The firm won't finance or have a "active role" in development of the games like a normal publisher, but will instead be a distributor, and promoter, according to the firm's Dan Morris. The incentive will help more mobile titles become discoverable, and eight games will debut through the social network's "pilot program," starting with Gameloft's Kingdoms & Lords. All "smaller and medium-sized developers" as well as established studios will receive equal attention. Thanks, Shack.
