Fabula Nova Crystallis conference renamed, delayed, to be streamed

Square's reorganised the Fabula Nova Crystallis press conference that was due to take place in Tokyo next week.

It's now been rebranded the Square Enix 1st Production Department Premier event, and will now instead happen on January 18. It was due to take place next Tuesday.

The event was originally due to focus on the two remaining, unreleased games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series: Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII. Main title Final Fantasy XIII released last March in the west.

Speaking in Dengeki magazine, Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura said the delay was down to magazine publication timing.

The event was due to be for press, but it has now become a premium event for fans in a similar way to Square's DKS3137 event in 2008.

The main aim of the event will also be footage of the games on display, not demos.

Square will also stream the event online to a random picking of 10,000 people via the Square Enix Members website.

Unsurprisingly, Versus will still be at the event, as should be Agito XIII. In fact, for the former, we'll hear main character Noctis speak for the very first time.

We'll also see plenty of footage taken from Versus, although graphics have apparently already been improved over the on-show visuals.

As well as Versus and Agito, Dissidia 012, Kingdom Hearts 3DS and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep: Final Mix will be on display.

Thanks, Andriasang.
