Explore dried-out seabeds in Far: Lone Sails' post-apocalypse

Far: Lone Sails is a game about exploring the remains of a decaying civilisation.

Far: Lone Sails was first unveiled all the way back in 2016. Since then, developer Okomotive went pretty quite for a while, only releasing small snippets of alpha footage every several months.

This all changes now, because Far: Lone Sails is out very soon. The game will be released May 17 on Steam, and it continues to have the singular, stunning look that turned heads two years ago.

In Far: Lone Sails, you traverse dried-out seabeds in a post-apocalyptic world where only the remains of a "civilisation on the run" are left. The game's striking eerie, dismal tone will immediately jump out thanks to wide shots of barren landscapes that follow your vessel.

The developer calls Lone Sails a "vehicle adventure game", and it's easy to see why. Outside of navigating environmental puzzles, you'll also be tasked with maintaining the ship and surviving the harsh weather conditions.

It's a survival game of sorts, though you won't be seeing any zombies, just the vast derelict world. Get a tease of the game's atmosphere in the trailer below:

Far: Lone Sails is out May 17 on Steam, and it's also in development for PS4 and Xbox One. The game's beta will be playable at EGX Rezzed (April 13-15), alongside games like Phoenix Point, Extinction and many others.
