EverQuest Next dev diary gives a brief look at Landmark

EverQuest Next's first developer diary, Inside the Black Box, gives a look at the work-in-progress MMO and a peek at the tools you could be using quite soon.

The developer diary is hosted by senior producer Terry Michaels, but visits with several members of the dev team. It breaks down a barrier of secrecy which has been maintained at Sony Online Entertainment for years.

What makes it particularly interesting is that you can see some of the staff working with the tools which will eventually be released as EverQuest Next: Landmark, through which players will be able to contribute directly to the MMORPG's construction.

EverQuest Next will have destructible environments with permanent change; in-game, players will get to build and destroy scenery. There are over 40 classes, and players can multi-class. Also, it's ridiculously good-looking.
