EverQuest Landmark is on Steam Early Access with a ton of new & incoming updates

EverQuest Landmark has arrived on Steam Early Access, thanks to Sony Online Entertainment, but as it's in closed beta you probably can't play it yet (unless you're lucky enough to have access of course). Still, here's a look at what's new and on the horizon for Landmark.

Over on the EverQuest Landmark Steam page, SOE warns that the game is subject to progress wipes between now and launch, and that new updates will happen each week.

That sounds a little daunting, especially if you put a solid week into making some incredible environment for the game, only to have it erased at the stroke of a pen.

Luckily, those in the beta can keep track of incoming wipes and new features on the Landmark Blueprint forum feed.

SOE developer Smokejumper has listed a barrage of new updates coming in the latter half of May, such as the cave creation tools, that enable gamers to dig through them to deep beneath the Earth in search of raw minerals. That sounds a bit 'crafty' in a mining sort of way. You dig?

Perhaps the biggest new update is the Player Studio, which will pay content-creators real money for selling their goods online. There's also going to be a 'Crafting 2.0' mechanic that allows for, "Imbuing, Refining, Reinforcing and Salvaging systems," although some of that may slip to June.

There's also underwater mechanics, a new loot spawning system, VOIP options and tons more through the link above.

You can opt-in to the beta at several tiers, starting at £14.99, then running through £44.99 and £75.99.

If you're lucky enough to be in the Landmark closed beta, let us know how you're getting on below.
