EVE: Valkyrie announced for Oculus Rift

CCP has made its Oculus Rift dogfighting prototype official, announcing EVE: Valkyrie for 2014 launch and issuing a trailer and first screenshots.

As it's an Oculus Rift title, you can expect Valkyrie on PC only at this point. There are few further details available; we don't know whether Valyrie will interact in any way with MMO EVE Online, as PlayStation 3 shooter DUST 514 does. Clearly that would be rad; perhaps too rad for this world.

The prototype was known as EVE-VR when it was demonstrated in at EVE Fanfestin April, and although CCP said it had no concrete plans to bring the game to release, we haven't stopped sending them love letters in the interim, which seems to have worked quite well.
