Enslaved art director tackles DmC

Ninja Theory's Alessandro Tain is set to reprise his art director role on the reboot of the Devil May Cry series, transitioning from Enslaved: Odyssey to the West's colourful post-apocalypse to DmC's shabby metropolises.

Siliconera noted the posting on Tain's portfolio website.

No images accompany the resumé-like listing, but a quote from 18th Century philosopher David Hume offers a sliver of insight into where Capcom and Ninja Theory may be going with the franchise's starling transformation:

"Heaven and hell suppose two distinct species of men, the good and the bad. But the greatest part of mankind float betwixt vice and virtue."

DmC: Devil May Cry will be the fifth release in Capcom's bestselling series, and has shocked long-time fans by seeming to wildly redesign the game's characters and plot, despite strong critical and commercial performance from 2008's Devil May Cry 4.

Touted as an origins story, DmC features a younger, troubled version of protagonist Dante, lacking his trademark silver hair and snappy outfit.
