Elite: Dangerous developer Frontier came out on stage last night at GDC to announce the game making its console debut on Xbox One. Some have feared that the port would not provide the same experience as the PC version. Thankfully, this won't be the case.

David Braben, CEO of Frontier took to the game's official forums to clarify that the Xbox One version will not be inferior.

"Elite: Dangerous on Xbox One will be the complete and authentic Elite: Dangerous experience. It will not be "dumbed down". We’ll be working with an all-new audience, but that doesn't mean a change in direction for the game, and nor does it mean slowing development on the PC version," said Braben.

He also announced that the PC, Mac, and Xbox One versions will all share the same overarching narrative and galaxy state. So whatever contrinbtuon players of those platforms have, it will not just be limited to their systems.

Elite: Dangerous will launch on Xbox One in the summer.
