Eidos six-month financials show dramatic cut in losses

Eidos showed heartening results for the six months ending December today, with revenues increased 26 percent and losses dramatically reduced compared to the previous period.

Sales were up to £80.3 million for the half-year period, compared to £63.4 million the previous year

Losses fell from £81.4 million in 2007 to just £1 million in 2008.

"The first six months of trading this year were characterised by an incredibly competitive and increasingly challenging retail environment," said Eidos boss, Phil Rogers.

"The changes made at Eidos over the past year, coupled with the continued hard work and determination of our employees and external partners, means we are well placed one year into our three-year strategic plan to produce higher-quality, must-have games to entertain our consumer."
