EGX partners with Amazon for this year's show

EGX have netted themselves quite the catch by teaming up with Amazon for the upcoming expo.

Amazon will be advertising the show with a marketing campaign across their website, app, and social media. The site will also be hosting "an EGX hub of content," including Twitch streams and "in depth information on all the products being showcased at EGX."

"We asked our community where they prefer to buy and pre-order their games and Amazon was overwhelmingly their number one choice.” said Rupert Loman, CEO of EGX’s parent company Gamer Network. "Their obsessive focus on customer experience fits perfectly with our attendees’ discerning taste. We’re extremely pleased to have the backing of another market-leading partner."

"Every year we see our customers respond to the hands on experience and news coming out of EGX, so we are delighted to make it even easier to connect our customers with the games they love from innovative indie titles to blockbuster games,” added Russell Jones, Category Leader, Video Games for Amazon. “We are also working with our publishing partners to offer a few surprises for customers at the event."

Amazon will also be running a prize draw every month in the run up to the show, with customers being able to win free tickets to EGX 2016.

If you haven't already bought yourself a ticket, you might want to nab one now, as over 80,000 people are expected to attend the NEC in Birmingham between September 22 and 25 for the biggest EGX expo yet.

Full disclosure: EGX is a partner of the Gamer Network, as is VG247.
