EA: "We don't have plans to include female players in FIFA"

FIFA executive producer David Rutter has calmed talk of female players being added to the franchise.

"We get literally thousands upon thousands of suggestions from our fans for new features and we have to evaluate those suggestions, such as the inclusion of female players in the game, against our resources, priorities and overall fan feedback. At present, we don't have plans to include female players in the game," Rutter told CVG.

After a hugely successful women's football event at the London Olympics, a petition was set up to try and get female footballers into the next title.

Women's football has won major plaudits across the last two weeks. Many of the teams performed well on the big stage, and combined with greater exposure, have roused the interest of many who would usually overlook it.

Unfortunately, not enough for EA to consider throwing them in with the men. Possible DLC? Probably not.
