EA shutters North Carolina mobile studio - rumour

Whispers suggests EA has closed down a North Carolina studio primarily tasked with the creation of free-to-play mobile titles.

The news comes via The Escapist, which cites as anonymous insider source for word of the closure.

The source said "most of the team" will be relocated by October 5, suggesting there won't be significant lay-offs.

We've asked EA for more information, but The Escapist is yet to receive comment on its report. However, the studio's web page seems to have been removed.

The North Carolina studio was a smaller team devoted to mobile titles, and part of the EA All Play label. Its releases include iOS title Monopoly Hotels, as well as Hasbro, NFL and NASCAR licensed titles.

Thanks, MCV.
