EA: Consumers are "first priority" though GAME issues "unfortunate"

EA has issued a statement regarding UK retailer GAME's inability to stock Mass Effect 3 for launch this week.

"It's unfortunate that GAME is having challenges with its suppliers," the publisher told Eurogamer.

"However, consumers have many alternatives both in-store and online. Our first priority is to inform our consumers of the many other retailers carrying our games. We don't anticipate any delay in getting our titles to market."

The troubled retail chain was unable to negotiate a supply of Mass Effect 3 for launch. Analysts estimate GAME may lose £2 million by not stocking the shooter RPG hybrid.

GAME has also experienced difficulties stocking Capcom and Ubisoft releases, reportedly due to credit issues.

Mass Effect 3 arrives in the UK on March 9, for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
