E3 2018: Square Enix reveals The Quiet Man

In The Quiet Man, silence rings loudest.

Alongside the Final Fantasy, Just Cause 4, and Tomb Raider announcements, Square Enix revealed a new game called The Quiet Man. From all appearances, this will be a Sleeping Dogs-styled brawler with a twist - the protagonist cannot hear anything.

According to Square Enix's press release, The Quiet Man will be a story-driven, cinematic experience that can be completed in a single sitting. The trailer starts out in live-action before transitioning to an in-game action sequence where our hero fights a pair of gangsters. It's possible the finished game will feature similar transitions, combining fighting game mechanics with an interactive film.

The Quiet Man Release Date:

Either way, this one has a low-key, gritty visual aesthetic compared to other Square Enix games, so it should be interesting to follow moving forward. The bad news? Square Enix is keeping quiet on details until August. The finished game will launch for PC and PS4 in 2019.
