Drakengard 3 Tokyo Game Show 2013 trailer introduces the Utautai

Meet Zero's numerically named sisters, whose special powers have made them the target of her wrath, in this new trailer for Drakengard 3.

Zero has five sisters, all songstresses with magical powers, and she's going to kill them all - for typically convoluted reasons. It's a good thing she has so many weapons, a freaking dragon, and the ability to get stronger when she gets blood-splattered, hey?

Drakengard 3 is something of a labour of love for Square Enix, which is rather fond of the franchise. It put together an all-star crew of former Cavia staff to make the third game in the series, which fans had given up hope on after the studio was closed. As well as the two Drakengard games, the franchise arguably includes Nier, which shares story and setting ties.

Called Drag-on Dragoon 3 in Japan, Drakengard 3 has not been confirmed for western release, but I have been sending flowers to Square Enix Europe boss Phil Rogers about six times a month, so we'll see. The PS3 exclusive arrives in Japan in December.

Thanks, Gematsu.
