Dragon's Dogma Online trademark filed in Europe - report

A trademark for Dragon's Dogma Online has popped up. Poor Capcom. All of its surprises are leaking.

Spotted by NeoGAF and posted by AGB, the trademark was filed with OHIM through a company Capcom has used in the past, so it looks legitimate for the time being - thus the "report" bit in the headline.

Earlier this week, it was noticed that the Dragon's Dogma website posted a teaser in the News section by linking to a Segment Next article linking to one posted by Gematsu. The link on the main site seems to have disappeared, but it read:

“Devil May Cry? Dragon’s Dogma 2? What could this be? What are you hoping for?”

The Gematsu article in question notes a Famitsu interview in which Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi teased a PlayStation 4 reveal for Sony's PlayStation Experience event, which takes place this weekend.

"You’ll be surprised by the quality of the games we’re working on right now," he said in the interview. “I think we’ll be able to announce it soon, so please look forward to it. I realize that’s obnoxious (laughs). It’s gonna be something that will even turn heads overseas.”

The reveal could be one of the two games Yoshinori Ono is working on for PS4 alongside Deep Down. One of these is obviously Street Fighter 5 which was leaked earlier this morning.

I suppose we'll find out soon enough, but it is also worth noting that Capcom recently renewed its Devil May Cry trademark. This could just be normal housekeeping, or a hint that a new game in the series is currently in development.

Dragon's Dogma was rather popular with the RPG crowd, and I was rather impressed with what I saw of it during Capcom's Captivate event back in 2011.

Whether the "online" aspect of the trademark filing means just that - online - or an MMO is to be determined, but we're leaning towards the former.
