Dragon Ball FighterZ How to Build Up the Ki Gauge Guide

At the bottom of your screen in Dragon Ball FighterZ, you’ll see a bar that continues to build up every time you successfully land an attack on an opponent. This is known as the Ki Gauge, or attack meter, and it’s this bar that you’ll need to fill the gauges of, in order to successfully perform any of the Super Moves that we’ve listed out below. Every Super Move that you perform drains the super meter a certain amount, so you’ll have to decide which Super Move attacks to spend your acquired super meter power on.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Super Moves Guide

In the following guide, we’re going to detail all the Dragon Ball FighterZ Super Moves that we know of so far, which include characters like Goku and Vegeta, all the way to villains like Cell and Frieza. We’ll detail how to execute every special attack we know of so far for each character, including how to pull them off on your standard controller.

Frieza’s Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

The first Super Move in our list belongs exclusively to Frieza, and is called the ‘Death Ball’ attack. The move only requires one meter of the Ki Gauge to be filled up, and can be executed by pressing the right bumper (or right trigger) at the same time as pressing down on the analog stick and moving it ninety degrees anticlockwise. The Death Ball attack won’t take too long to build up, and it isn’t too difficult to pull off, even for newcomers to the franchise.

Another Super Move that belongs to Frieza is the Nova Strike, which this time requires three bars of the Ki Gauge to be filled up. You can execute this move by pressing down on the analog stick and this time turning it ninety degrees clockwise, at the same time as pressing the right bumper. This move takes off nearly half the health of any afflicted characters, but it might take you a while to build up the super move gauge.

Alternatively, you can simply press the right trigger instead of the right bumper with the above combination for the Nova Strike, and you’ll initiate the Golden Frieza transformation instead. This is currently the only transformation announced for Dragon Ball FighterZ, but it will require three meters from the Ki Gauge.

Cell’s Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Next we’re onto Cell, who looks set to be a fairly easy character for newcomer Dragon Ball FigherZ players to use. To initiate his most basic Super Move, which is titled Energy Field and costs one bar from the gauge, you simply have to press down on the analog stick and turn it ninety degrees anticlockwise, as well as pressing either the right bumper or the right trigger at the same time.

The second Super Move for Cell is the more complex Solar Kamehameha, which is performed by filling three gauges from the attack gauge, and then by pressing down on the analog stick and turning it ninety degrees clockwise, as well as pressing either the right bumper or the right trigger at the same time. It’s undoubtedly the more powerful of the Super Moves available for Cell, but it will take more time to build up the required gauge.

Majin Buu’s Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Up next is Majin Buu, the final form of Innocent Buu. His basic Super Move is called You Know What? I Hate You!, and requires just one attack gauge bar to be filled, and as always can be performed by pressing down on the analog stick and turning it anticlockwise, at the same time as pressing either the right bumper or the right analog stick.

His more powerful attack is called You’re my Snack Now!, and is apparently where Majin Buu turns his opponent into a cookie, of all things. As always, the more powerful Super Move for a character costs three attack gauges, and can be executed by pressing down on the analog stick and turning it clockwise, at the same time as pressing either the right bumper or the right trigger.

Vegeta’s Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Moving onto the heroes of Dragon Ball FighterZ, first up we have Vegeta, whose basic Super Move, called Big Bang Attack, can be pulled off using just one attack gauge bar. To perform the special move, simply turn the analog stick down and then anticlockwise, and press either the right bumper or right trigger to initiate the attack.

For Vegeta’s more powerful Super Move, calledFinal Flash, you’ll need to have three gauges of the special bar filled up, and as always, turn the analog stick clockwise while pressing either the right bumper or right trigger. As you can probably tell from the required attack gauge power, this is the more deadly attack that Vegeta can pull off in the heat of battle.

Goku’s Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

The hero of Dragon Ball himself, Goku, has three Super Move attacks revealed so far for the game, the first of which is called Super Kamehameha. This attack requires one gauge of the bar to be full, and is executed by turning the analog stick down and then anticlockwise, at the same time as pressing the right bumper.

The next Super Move for Goku also only spends one bar of the attack gauge, and is called the Instant Transmission Kamehameha. Simply turn the analog stick anticlockwise while pressing the right trigger, and you’ll execute the powerful special attack, which actually involves Goku vanishing entirely, only to reappear behind his opponent.

Finally, the more powerful Super Move for Goku requires three meters from the attack bar, and is called Meteor Smash. Turn the analog stick clockwise while pressing either right bumper or the right trigger, and the attack will unleash three lesser hits on the opponent, before Goku goes for the massive finishing move.

Krillin's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Krillin's first Super Move in Dragon Ball FighterZ is the Destro-Disc attack, and is performed by turning the analog stick anticlockwise from facing downward, and then pressing right bumper or the right trigger. This attack consumes one gauge of the Ki Meter, and it sends a horizontal disc of energy across the battlefield.

The more powerful of Krillin's Super Moves is the Scattering Energy Wave, and is performed with either the right bumper or trigger, after turning the analog stick anticlockwise from facing downward. It's a devastating attack, and is guaranteed to hit your enemy if they're in front of you.

Yamcha's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

First up for Yamcha is the Spirit Ball Super Move, which uses up one bar of the Ki Gauge. This attack is performed by turning the analog stick anticlockwise from the downward position, and pressing the right bumper or right trigger, and sends a beam of energy horizontally across the field.

The Ultimate Wolf Fang Fist Super Move belonging to Yamcha is performed in the same way, but by instead turning the analog stick clockwise. This attack lands 18 devastating hits on your opponent, but only if they're in front of you at the time.

Tien's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FigherZ

Tien's first Super Move, called the Tri-Beam, aims downwards towards the ground, meaning it can catch your opponent if they're in midair. Simply press the right bumper or right trigger, after turning the analog stick anticlockwise.

For the Farewell, Tien... Super Move attack, simply turn the analog stick clockwise instead and press right trigger, to have Chiaotzu appear and grab your opponent, before Tien strikes them.

Android 18's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

The first android character on this list, Android 18 has two Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ, the first of which is called Energy Wave and requires a single bar of the super meter to be filled. To execute the attack, pull down on the analog stick and turn it ninety degrees clockwise, as well as pressing any two attack buttons at the same time.

For the more powerful of Android 18's Super Move attacks, you'll need to do the exact same button combinations, except this time turn the analog stick anticlockwise instead. The more powerful Super Move is called Accel Dance, and requires two bars of the super meter to be full.

Beerus' Super Moves in Dragon Ball FigherZ

For our sole feline fighter in Dragon Ball FigherZ, you have two options for Super Moves. The first is called Beerus Ball and requires just a single gauge of the super meter, and you can pull it off by pressing the analog stick down and turning it clockwise, at the same time as pressing any two attack buttons.

The other Super Move that Beerus can pull off is called Judgment, and requires three full bars of the super meter in order to be executed. This time, simply turn the analog stick anticlockwise from the downward positon, while pressing two attack buttons, and you'll pull it off.

Kid Buu's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

This creepy looking fighter has three Super Moves available in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The weaker two, called Human Extinction Attack and Pearl Flash, are both pulled off by pressing down on the analog stick and turning it clockwise, at the same time as pressing two attack buttons. You'll execute the Human Extinction Attack if you're on the ground, and the Pearl Flash Suepr Move if you're in the air.

Finally, for the more powerful of Kid Buu's Super Moves, the Planet Crusher attack can be pulled off by turning the analog stick anticlockwise, as well as pressing two attack buttons, but you will need to have a full three bars of super meter full.

Hit's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

For the first of Hit's Super Moves, called Death Blow, turn the analog stick anticlockwise and then press the right trigger, and you'll strike the opponent with a powerful blow straight ahead of you.

For the supremely powerful I Keep Improving Super Move attack from Hit, you simply have to turn the analog stick in the clockwise direction from facing downwards, and press either the right bumper or right trigger. This is a huge move, and delivers over 50 hits directly to your opponent.

Goku Black's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Goku Black has two lesser Super Move attacks, known as God Slicer Dance and Holy Light Grenade, both of which are performable in the air. Turn the analog stick anticlockwise from facing down, and then press the right bumper for the former attack, and then right trigger for the latter.

For the more powerful The Work of a God Super Move for Goku Black, turn the analog stick clockwise and then press either the right bumper or the right trigger. Although this attack can be performed in the air, it will cost you three meters of the Ki Gauge.

Captain Ginyu's Super Moves in Dragon Ball FigherZ

Firstly for Captain Ginyu, the Powerful Energy Wave costs one gauge of the Ki Meter, and hits any opponent in front of you. To pull this off, simply turn the analog stick anticlockwise, and press either the right trigger or right bumper.

It's Captain Ginyu's Body Change Super Move where things get weird. Simply turn the analog stick clockwise and press either the right bumper or right trigger, to damage the opponent, and also switch bodies with them.

It should be noted that this move can't be executed in the story mode of Dragon Ball FighterZ, but it certainly gives Captain Ginyu the ability to switch things up, should you wish.
