Dragon Ball FighterZ looks incredibly faithful to the anime in its first trailer

Dragon Ball FighterZ has been announced at E3, and the trailer's a doozy.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is being developed by Arc System Works, best known for their work on the Guilty Gear and Blazblue games. It's a 2D three-on-three fighter with cel shaded graphics and 3D character models that are more reminiscent of the anime's style. It's absolutely gorgeous.

You'll be able to compete in 3 on 3 battles, switching between characters, and use the Super Saiyan form for Saiyan fighters.

The game seems to be largely based on Dragon Ball Z, but there are some elements of Super in there - Freiza/Freezer appears in his golden form, although this form first appeared in the Z-branded film 'Resurrection of F', so it's possible that the game won't dip into the more recent anime arcs.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will launch on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in early 2018. It will be playable at E3, and a closed beta will be held before the end of summer (further details about this will be released later in the year).
