Head to the Rift with Cassandra
Once control has been handed over to you, you’ll be asked how you’re feeling, so respond accordingly, then follow the path, go through the gate at the end and carry on until you trigger a cutscene. You’ll be thrown into battle shortly afterwards, so assist Cassandra in kicking some arse and choose your dialogue option when you’re done.
Proceed down the path and grab the helmet from nearby the the dead soldier, before carrying straight on and dropping down to the left. You’ll be ambushed by a couple of Lesser Shades, so make light work of them, then make a quick detour to the left to pick up a crafting Elfroot and loot. Double back and follow the path for another encounter with a Lesser Shade, then make your way left, up the hill, and take care of the Wraith up here. Head back down and to the far end for an Elfroot and loot.
Carry on down the path, taking out a couple more Wraiths and a Lesser Shade along the way, then head right for another enemy encounter and carry on to the far end to pick up an Elfroot. Do a 180 and pop up the stairs to your right, then left at the top for another enemy encounter and cutscene.
Get to the Forward Camp
Hop over the obstacle ahead of you and follow the path until you happen across 2 Wraiths, a Greater Shade and a Lesser Shade. It would be advisable for you to focus your energy on the Lesser Shade while Cassandra takes on the Greater Shade. Your ranged comrades can start whittling down the HP of the Wraiths until you’ve finished off the Lesser Shade and lend them a hand. When they’re down, all of you should assist Cassandra with the Greater Shade and rejoice upon its demise.
Before going up the stairs to the right of the nearby house, sweep the area for Elfroot, then plop down onto the frozen river and make your way over to the left to find loot. Follow the path until you reach the campsite at the end where you’ll find a few Shades. Grab the iron and accessory from over the near the fire then double back to the stairs by the house.
Pop up the stairs, deal with the Shades and Wraiths at the top, then head up the hill and stick to the path to encounter some more enemies. After you’ve dealt with them, close the rift by interacting with it.
Talk to Leliana
Head through the gate ahead and stop at the supply cache to top up your potions. To the right of the bridge is a chest containing loot. Go towards the centre of the bridge to trigger a cutscene with dialogue options. You can choose between 2 routes and if you want to nab loot and save the soldiers, opt for the mountain path option. If you prefer, you can charge with the soldiers, but both options are covered below.
Reach the temple through the mountain path
Scoot up the ladders that lie ahead, head left at the top and into the mountain. Deal with the Shades, pop up the steps ahead and around the corner to the right. There’s a chest and loot in the first room on the right. In the foggy open area, investigate the right side for more loot in the corners, the nip up the steps on the left and take out the Wraiths and the Shade up here.
Grab the loot from over on the left, pop up the steps to the right, dealing with a few more enemies along the way, and then seal the rift for another cutscene. take the loot from the floor, make your way down the path to the right and down the ladders towards the waypoint to reach the temple entrance.
Charge forward to the temple with the soldiers
Follow the path, head up the steps and at the top of the first staircase, pop over to the right to find a chest. Carry on up the next staircase and fight off the enemies up here, then close the rift by interacting with it. If you faff about before doing so, Terrors will come through the rift and you’ll have to deal with them, so move quickly. After the cutscene, grab the loot from the floor.
Enter the Temple
Go through the opening in front of you. picking up a second lot of loot on the way. Go down the stairs and around the corner for another cutscene.
Find a route to the rift
Make your way to the right and continue along the path, around the corner, and down the steps. Drop down by the rift to trigger a cutscene.
Pride Demon Boss Battle
HP: 13, 821
Perceptive
Immune: Physical, Paralysed, Asleep, Frozen
Resistant: Electricity
At the start of the battle, the Pride Demon’s health bar will be grey, indicating that it can’t be damaged. This will happen at intervals during the fight, and when it does, interact with the rift to stun the demon, allowing you to damage it again. The Demon has a lightning attack that will shoot out straight ahead of it, so don’t take up a position in front of it. Your prerogative is to have your main character interact with the rift during this battle. Ignore the adds when they appear but if they start interfering with your character who is over at the rift, take them out.
