Speaking at Develop this morning, BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk warned that the triple A space is becoming increasingly tough to enter.

The exec said triple A market can be chased, but that "the opportunities are getting narrower and narrower."

Risk-taking has come down further, and innovation is being "squeezed" out of game development's top bracket, he said.

The games industry, he said, is becoming like "Hollywood," with everyone chasing the next big blockbuster.

Zeschuk added that he was pleased that some veteran devleopers had decided to move to smaller teams instead of focussing on super-games.

BioWare has just announced Dragon Age 2 for release next March, although Zeschuk used his speech at the conference to talk about development process and how to make creating games "easier".

Studio cohort Ray Muzyka was supposed to be joining Greg at the speech, but has made it through to the last 500 of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, if you can believe that.
