Dota 2 challenges you away from the norm with 'Least Played Mode'

Valve has added an interesting new Dota 2 mode that urges players into trying new things. Is change good?

Known as 'Least Played Mode', participating players are forced into using characters they are not familiar with. The roster is crammed with 96 selections to choose from, ensuring most players have outlined a number of favourites. Instead of letting the rest of the cast rot, this fresh update stops users from choosing their top 20 characters.

"Having an even playing field for everyone in the match will hopefully encourage players to break out of their comfort zone and try new heroes," commented Valve in a blog post.

Yesterday's patch also fixed a handful of bugs and added extra Steam Workshop tools. You can now create items for Centaur Warrunner, Batrider, Mirana, Keeper of the Light, Shadow Demon, and Slark. Warlock and Drow Ranger bots have also been implemented.

If you haven't done so already, you can purchase the Dota2 early access package right here, or hunt down one of those (not so rare) spare invites.
