Don't Starve: Pocket Edition hits iPad this week

Don't Starve is going mobile. More mobile than the Vita version, I mean.

Klei Entertainment's charming 2D survival sandbox Don't Starve is releasing on iPad on July 9, the developer has announced.

The $5 Pocket Edition packs in all the content from the PC version, apparently, including the Reign of Giants expansion. No word on Don't Starve Together, the multiplayer suite, but I wouldn't bet on it.

The new version has been optimised for touch, and requires an iPad 3, iPad mini 2 or better, and iOS 8 or better.

Don't Starve is also available on Linux, Mac, PC, PS4 and Vita, with a PlayStation 3 version expected and an Xbox One release in the works. Since it has all (most of?) the same content as the PC release it would have been great to have cross-save with at least the Steam version, but there's no mention of it. Pity.
