The Division players can expect additional support for the game going forward on all platforms.
Two title updates are in development for The Division along with an additional achievements system, and Xbox One X support.
The two updates will be Global Events which include more Legendary difficulty missions, and come June, players can earn specific achievements called ‘Crests’.
These will allow players to unlock rewards in update 1.8.2 for use in The Division 2 which was announced today.
An Xbox One X update, which has been a long time coming, is also on the docket. The update will support both 4K and 1080p and it is expected to be released in April.
The developers did say on the stream the Shields update 1.8.2 would be released in June, with two more Legendary mission modes, and the rotation of monthly Global Events. The Shields campaign achievements will earn players special rewards in The Division 2.
But before that, update 1.8.1 is still on track for April.
Update 1.8.1 features Legendary modes for Amherst’s apartment and Grand Central Station, along with the aforementioned Xbox One X patch. It also includes new Classified acquisition rates, and a new Global Event: Blackout.
A new Global Event, Onslaught, will be released in May.
Looking further ahead, here's what players can expect this summer:
- July - Global Event: Assault, with the continuation of Shields.
- August - Global Event: Strike, with the continuation of Shields.
- September - Global Event: Ambush, with the continuation of Shields.
The Division 2 was announced this morning by Massive Entertainment, which said it has no plans to discuss the game until E3 2018 in June.
