Disney+ Streaming Service Confirmed for PS4, Discussions to Bring to Switch and Xbox One Ongoing
Disney's video streaming service is coming to PlayStation 4, and hopefully other consoles too.

Disney is getting ready to launch its own video streaming platform called Disney+ to compete with services like Netflix. It will include film and television from all of Disney's brands, including Star Wars and Marvel, and it looks like Disney is aiming to get it on all available video game consoles too, including the Nintendo Switch.
In a video presentation to investors today, Disney outlined more details about its upcoming Disney+ video streaming platform. A part of Disney's strategy includes launching the service on as many platforms as possible, including video game consoles. Disney already confirmed a partnership with PS4, but in its presentation showed consoles like the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
Getting Disney's Disney+ app on all the game consoles would be a big coup. Especially on the Nintendo Switch, where so far only YouTube and Hulu (another Disney-owned streaming service) has a presence. Netflix is currently unavailable on the Switch, despite ongoing discussions.
Disney+ is a planned subscription video service for all things Disney. This includes content from Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic, and more. It will be the exclusive home for Disney-branded content going forward. So, eventually, all those Marvel movies on Netflix will move to Disney+.
Here's to hoping Disney can finalize a partnership with Xbox and Nintendo to get Disney+ on both platforms along with the PS4 in time for launch before Q1 2020, which is Fall 2019.
