Dirt 3 to get party modes; running over cardboard robots

Some of DiRT 3's multiplayer modes are a little different from what you might expect from a racing game.

RPS reports that the racer will have what Codemasters is calling a "party mode". This will consist of three mini-games for multiplayer.

One is called Invasion, where you will have to run over cardboard cut outs of evil robots without hitting cardboard skyscrapers.

Another is titled Outbreak, where one car is stricken with a "disease" that causes it to turn bright green. That car can infect other cars by touching them. The goal is to be the last car running that isn't infected.

Finally there's the Transporter mode. No, it has nothing to do with the action movie series; instead it's a variation on Capture The Flag, the difference being that the flag's spawn point will be random.

Dirt 3 will be released for PC, 360 and PS3 on May 24 worldwide
