DICE: Battlefield 3 PC getting "special effort"

battlefield2

Battlefield 3 lead designer David Goldfarb has said the PC version of the upcoming shooter is getting some "special effort".

Goldfarb was answering a question in a tweet. He said:

"it will not be exclusive. We are putting special effort into the pc version, even for us, it's extraordinary."

It comes as talk on the much-anticipated shooter starts ramping up. EA CEO John Riccitiello said, despite it not being formally announced yet, it would release within the final six months of 2011.

DICE rendering architect Johan Andersson also said overnight that gamers getting the PC version would have to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7 from XP or they will miss out.

A talk on Battlefield 3 will take place at GDC in March, which seems to indicate a reveal is coming sooner then later.

A multiplayer beta is included in copies of Medal of Honor for PS3, 360 and PC.
