A Diamond Dog is a Snake's best friend in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Additional updates on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain keep streaming out of Tokyo Game Show 2014, and this bit of news couldn't be any cuter.

There's a new furry friend in town, and his name's DD. That's Diamond Dog to you. A bit of gameplay at TGS 2014 today showcased his role as support for the grizzled Snake. He's also there to be totally adorable in his little eye patch. Seriously, just look at him.

Little DD is left with Ocelot to be trained and will eventually end up with Snake as an optional companion. Much like Quiet, he'll be able to help Big Boss out on missions. Snake finds the little guy by a dead older wolf as a little cub, and later on in life he gets his own stylish eyepatch to match Snake.

It'll be interesting to see what all Diamond Dog can do. And Kojima, you'd better not kill Snake's new little buddy. Seriously.

Thanks, GameSpot.
