Diablo 3 says goodbye to the Auction House, remaining bids to end June 24

Diablo 3 developer Blizzard Entertainment has closed the RPG's controversial Auction House for good.

Blizzard explained why it chose to close the Diablo 3 Auction House last week, along with a statement discussing the matter. Hit the link to read it in full.

IGN adds that while players can access gold and real-world money Auction Houses through the Diablo 3 main menu, they are not able to place bids or list new items. It is presumed that the house will disappear completely once all current bidding has ceased.

An attached note from Blizzard on the menus reads, "The Auction House is shutting down. You must claim your items from the Completed tab by 6/24. Existing auctions will complete based on the time remaining."

This could point to the house going away for good on June 24. We'll update you once we hear for certain.
