Diablo 2: Resurrected announced for PC and consoles, will feature cross-progression

Diablo 2: Resurrected has been announced, and you can sign up for the PC alpha.

As everyone suspected it would, Blizzard announced Diablo 2: Resurrected, which is a full HD remaster of the original and in 3D form.

This is the definitive remastering of Diablo 2 and its Lord of Destruction expansion. You can expect dynamic lighting, revamped animations and spell effects in up to 4K resolution, and all 27 minutes of the game’s classic cinematics have been remade shot-for-shot.

The soundtrack has also been reinvigorated to support Dolby 7.1 surround sound.

For those who would prefer a more nostalgic experience, you can freely switch back-and-forth between the modern graphics and the original experience at any time with the press of a button.

Diablo 2: Resurrected features seven customizable character classes for players to choose from—the Amazon, Barbarian, Necromancer, Paladin, and Sorceress from the core game, as well as the Assassin and Druid from the included Lord of Destruction expansion.

Developed by Blizzard Entertainment and in-house studio Vicarious Visions, the game will be coming later this year to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch with cross-progression between supported platforms.
