Devil May Cry 5 trailer features V and his demon summons
Devil May Cry 5's newest trailer features V showing off his summon ability in combat. Mild spoilers await.
V is the focus of the latest Devil May Cry 5 trailer that's almost two minutes of the series' new character whooping butt with his three demon summons.
Capcom has detailed V's powers, saying that although he "may appear weak next to Nero and Dante," he has "the ability to unleash a unique fighting style that sees him summon three different demons to assist in battle." Players can pummel enemies with the demons and have V swoop in at the last minute to finish them off with his cane.
The studio lists the three demons and their powers as follows:
- Shadow: A swift, four-legged panther-like creature with savage agility that sees him change his shape into sharp blades and needles for perfectly executed close-range attacks.
- Griffon: A bird-like demon possessing aerial combat skills which allows him to carry V across Red Grave City and shoot lightning bolts at enemies from up above.
- Nightmare: The most powerful of V’s demons. Nightmare’s gigantic size sees him destroy enemies with just his basic attack, and he can also fire beams of light to destroy any approaching foes.
The trailer also sheds a bit more light on the relationship between V and Dante, which seems complicated to say the least. You can take a peek at that at the tail end of the trailer.
