Developer says fitness gamers will "benefit more" from Move and Natal

Simon Prytherch, managing director of Lightning Fish Games, has suggested that Move and Natal will appeal mainly to the non-core audience that use consoles for casual play and fitness regimes.

Speaking with MCV, Prythrch feels that these folks will "benefit more" from the new motion controls than anyone else.

“The non-games sector will benefit more than any other sector from Natal and PlayStation Move,” he said. "These devices are suited to non-core audiences. A key feature of these devices is the ability to accurately monitor user performance.

"We will see new ways of interacting and new genres emerging as creative minds get to grips with the technology.”

Fitness games for the new controls would not be surprising at all, since the genre sells rather well for Nintendo.

With Move, there's the possibility that EA Sports Active 2.0 coming to PS3 with work with the new controller, and then there's the rumor of a yoga game for Natal coming in October.

Super secret sources also claim that Rare's working on a exercise title of sorts, and with Microsoft courting ladies mags for advertising spots on Natal, it's only a matter of time before one is announced.
