Destruction AllStars will cost $20 after PS Plus, new content detailed

PlayStation and Lucid Games have announced more details about what the future of Destruction AllStars is going to look like, and that includes a meaty price drop.

Developer Lucid Games has announced that Destruction AllStars, the PlayStation 5 exclusive title that launched for players via PS Plus, will be available for $20 on April 6, when it leaves the subscription service. UK readers, no Sterling price has been announced, but you can likely expect it to land in the £15/20 region.

The game's full retail price was initially set to go on sale at an eye-watering $70 – but somewhere along the line, plans changed and it ended up on PS Plus, and will now be sold at a much more affordable price point.

In a post over on the PlayStation Blog, Lucid Games' community manager George Rule noted that there's still plenty more content in the pipes for the game. And that's probably for the best, since – let's be honest – the content on offer at launch was fairly scant.

In March, we're going to see the arrival of Mayhem 8v8 and Stockpile 4v4. Double XP weekends are set to return, too, and 10 new skins will be added to the game.

In April, we can look forward to the Challenge Series single-player experiences that'll give you a reason to try out each and every character in the roster. Further ahead than that, Lucid has teased more 'surprises' are in store... though is hesitant to reveal specifically what they are.

The game has certainly come a long way since launch – the devs promised to fix the annoying voice chat bug, after all.
