How to beat Pilot Servitor

Memories of Skolas runs may come flooding back, but hopefully happy thoughts in the knowledge that this guy is a pushover if you play safe from distance and restrict those ammo runs.

The Fallen adds are the biggest problem you’ll face here in the largest of all the arenas. It’s tempting to hunt down the clueless Pilot Servitor as it teleports around, many times completely out of sight. The only thing putting pressure on the team to continue pursuit is the timer restrictions imposed by Variks, and if your total score for the Challenge is already looking delicate, you could jeapordise that 30K High Score for the three rounds in total. Our advice though is to stay alive, which means making a b-line to the far right corner of the arena upon exiting the airlock – the barricaded platform that Skolas battles depend so much upon. With long-range, high-impact sniper rifles doing most of the work, and an auto rifle or hand cannon to quickly slay Fallen Captains/Vandals that pay you a visit, owning the Pilot Servitor shouldn’t take long at all.

Its weak spot is the centre of its ‘eyeball’, in case you were hoping for a surprise twist, which handily aims directly toward the source of attack. This means that sticking together is the best way to have him look at you the whole time. If you really must move to maintain the DPS, do so as a group. Don’t be tempted to crowd the Pilot Servitor to attempt DPS from close range; this specimen spews mines in large quantities, instantly depleting shields and stamina. These bouncing bombs also make ammo runs treacherous if the Servitor is hovering close by.

This isn’t so straightforward however, since the Pilot Servitor’s reinforcements are level 42 (red bar), a gentle reminder of what it used to feel like being slightly under powered. Teleporting Captains and Wire Rifle Vandals can pick you off while exposed. Judiciously moving between the Skolas deck and the raised area approached far left upon entering the arena, the Pilot Servitor can be near constantly damaged. High-impact, long-range primary weapons are also useful to attract his attention.
