Destiny Xur update: should you buy Year 2 Universal Remote?

Xur is selling the Year 2 Universal Remote this weekend in Destiny. Universal Remote is a shotgun you can equip as a primary, meaning you can essentially run with two shotguns.

Those of you who played the game during its first year, will remember that Universal Remote was nothing more than a novelty. Unfortunately, the same can be said for the Year 2 version.

Universal Remote's impact and rate of fire are not very high, making it less and less useful in PvP. As for PvE, it would be hard to recommend equipping it instead of a proper pulse or auto rifle.

Universal Remote is more of a fun/challenge weapon you could use if you want to mix things up. You could buy it for that reason, or in case you didn't own it in Year 1. Otherwise, it's safe to skip this one.
