Destiny will run at 1080p on Xbox One - but not during beta

Calm down, Xbox One dudes - Destiny will run at 1080p on your shiny box, too. Although next week, not so much.

Destiny won't run at 1080p on Xbox One during beta testing, according to The (unofficial) Destiny Blog's report on an IGN Live segment.

Don't freak out though - Bungie community manager David Dague (DeeJ) apparently confirmed the Xbox One will, like PS4, run at 1080p at launch in September. If you're wondering why it isn't already happening, it's worth remembering that Bungie only decided to aim for 1080p after Microsoft released a new Xbox One SDK freeing up some processing power previously reserved for the Kinect.

The PlayStation beta kicks in about 16 hours from time of writing, while Xbox users have to wait till next week. Stare at this countdown timer, if you like.

Destiny is coming to PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
