Destiny will be down tomorrow, but not for the February patch

Destiny is going offline but don't get too excited about it just yet.

Destiny will be offline from 10:00AM PST on Tuesday, as will Bungie.net and presumably any community services that draw from it.

The maintenance window is expected to last two hours.

I got pretty excited when Bungie announced the down time, hoping that it meant patch 1.1.1 would be rolling out, but this isn't the case. Although it's still expected before the end of the month, the update won't be dropping tomorrow.

In fact, whatever Bungie is doing during that down time, it won't even show up in gameplay - well, we can but hope it improves server stability, which every game could benefit from.

When Destiny 1.1.1 does drop we'll get a major weapon balancing, a reputation UI in the menu, matchmaking for Weekly Heroics and much more.
