This analyst predicts Destiny could sell more than Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz is suggesting that Destiny will be the best-selling game of the year. Selling more copies than Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Assassin’s Creed: Unity and even Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Venturebeat is citing a report from the Cowen and Company, in which analyst Doug Creutz predicts that Destiny will sell 10 to 15 million copies, roughly some $600 million to $900 million in revenue.

The estimates are based on Cowen’s Ordometer, a system that tracks game pre-orders in the US and then compares it to actual results after launch. The data is measured on weekly basis, starting from E3 week, and until the end of the year. The data only covers retail copies that are sold to consoles.

According to Creutz, Destiny has the highest Ordometer score of any game in the past four years, poising it to outsell Call of Duty: Advanced Ware, which currently has similar pre-order numbers to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Below is a list of the top five scorers on the system:

  • Destiny
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  • Assassin’s Creed Unity
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
  • Far Cry 4
