You'll only have to do the dailies once per account in Destiny: The Taken King

Destiny: The Taken King gets you off the doing-the-daily-three-times treadmill.

Destiny offers players increased rewards for participating in daily challenges - the Daily Heroic mission for PvE fans, and a Daily Playlist for those keen on PvP.

Players who take the game very seriously repeat these activities with each of their three characters, which is a major time suck and, to be honest, is a joyless grind. The Taken King creative director Luke Smith acknowledged this in the latest Bungie Weekly Update.

"It's important to us that Destiny remain compatible with real life," he said. "Playing multiple characters can sometimes feel like a job or a chore, the Daily Heroic and Daily PVP often felt that way."

Bungie will address this in The Taken King: rewards will be tied to accounts rather than characters, so that you only need to do the dailies once. Of course, rewards have also been increased, so you're not losing out by this change.

"We want players to choose which characters they want to play on and earn Legendary Marks on," Smith said.

Nice. Now you can mostly ignore your terrible [insert least favourite class here] and spend all your time shooting faces with your [insert favoured class here].

The Taken King launches on September 15 for all current Destiny platforms.
