Destiny: Rise of Iron - how to get Radiant Treasures for Silver Dust and Ornaments

Destiny: Rise of Iron introduces a new random gift bundle. How do you get Radiant Treasures?

Destiny: Rise of Iron builds on the Sterling Treasure system introduced in the April update by bringing in Radiant Treasures.

These bundles of random items look and behave much like Sterling Treasures, but where Sterling Treasures were tied to Chroma, Chroma gear and the Desolate (Taken) armour set, Radiant Treasures are related to new stuff coming with Destiny: Rise of Iron - notably those sexy Ornaments and Silver Dust, a currency you can use to buy more Ornaments from Xur.

So how will you get these little bundles of delight when Destiny: Rise of Iron launches later this month? At this stage Bungie is still being a bit coy about it, but as Arekkz explains above, preview builds suggest you'll be able to collect one each week by participating in the new high level Strike playlist, Siva.

Although that may change by the time Destiny: Rise of Iron releases, we don't expect it to - and in fact, now that we know Sterling Treasure will be changing in this week's Destiny update, we suspect we know where else you'll be able to earn Radiant Treasures.

At present, players earn one Sterling Treasure for logging in each week, one for trying the weekly featured Crucible playlist, and one from the high level Strike playlist - as well as earning them from Prison of Elders and buying them from Eververse, the microtransaction store.

but as of Thursday's update, you'll only be able to acquire Sterling Treasure through the level 41 Prison of Elders; they won't even be available for sale. However, when Destiny: Rise of Iron releases Radiant Treasure will be available for sale at Eververse - so we think you'll be able to get Radiant Treasure from the activities that currently hand out Sterling Treasure.

Remember that Sterling Treasures will become exclusive to Prison of Elders later this week, so stock up now if you're still chasing Chroma, Chroma gear and the Desolate armour set so you can get that shiver emote.
