Destiny Ghost Edition in such short supply that pre-orders are being cancelled

Destiny has two limited editions, and one of them is so hard to find that retailers have had to cancel pre-orders.

Destiny Ghost edition

Destiny's Ghost Edition has been really hard to buy almost since it was first announced, and we've heard rumblings that it is completely sold out in most territories.

That's certainly the case for Walmart, which has apparently had to cancel some preorders.

According to a screenshot posted on NeoGAF, Walmart has emailed unlucky customers and offered them the Limited Edition instead, plus a $50 refund.

The main difference between the Limited and Ghost editions is that the latter contains a talking plastic Ghost replica, a number of "relics" and a letter of introduction.

Both editions boast fancy packing, a guide book, postcards and a star chart, as well as digital content such as bonus equipment and a season pass for two upcoming expansions.

The Digital Guardian edition offers the digital content only, and is exclusive to downloadable copies of the game.

Read up on all three Destiny collector's editions, or just watch this droolworthy trailer detailing all the bonus goodies. The shared-worlds shooter drops in September on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
