Destiny fans: has Bungie hidden something in the real world?

Destiny has yielded up a promising little puzzle, which the Internet is set on cracking.

Destiny special editions include a number of bonus materials and it is these that seem to form a trail of breadcrumbs leading to ... something.

Reddit users Pepsisinabox and Latinoto asked players to contribute photos of the bonus materials, which apparently contain a set of co-ordinates.

The Internet obliged, and this is what the pair found:

"Most were in the middle of nowhere (including two between Canada and Greenland), but some of the sites were interesting. I am willing to bet that (since at least 2 of them are related to space/launches, the rest of them are as well," Pepsisinabox said.

"Latinoto noted that 45. 9650 N, and 63. 3050 E were circled, and noted with 'DEVILS'. After I put those in, I landed smack dab in the middle of KAZAKHSTAN, you know. Where 'Old Russia' in game is. And what noble house is located there? House of Devils. We might be on to something here."

So far there's no consensus as to what the co-ordinates mean when taken as a group, but if there is a mystery to be solved the power of the hive mind will work it out eventually.

Visit the Reddit thread linked above to see what has been uncovered so far, and contribute any knowledge you might have.

You may recall that Halo 2 was promoted via an AR Game called I Love Bees; Bungie is no stranger to collaborating with clever stealth marketing.
