Halo and Destiny composer Marty O'Donnell takes to Kickstarter to fund musical project

Marty O'Donnell wants funds to create a musical prequel to Golem.

Marty O'Donnell, the composer well-regarded for his work on Halo and Destiny music, has taken to Kickstarter to crowdfund a musical project that ties into Golem, the upcoming VR game.

Golem is being developed by Highwire, a studio made up for former Bungie staffers, including O'Donnell himself.

The project is called Echoes of the First Dreamer, and it's pitched as a musical prequel to the game. O'Donnell is asking for $45,000.

The Kickstarter page clarifies that this is not the soundtrack to the game. Rather, the work is "composed, arranged and recorded" independently and will be released prior to Golem's release.

Highwire Games itself will be contributing $20,000 to the overall budget, bringing it to $65,000.

32 backers have raised $7,098 at the time of writing, with 32 still to go.
