Destiny beta: "this is science - you're the lab rat"

As Bungie prepares for the Destiny beta, it has reminded players that participation is very much a test - and given out advice for any support issues that arise.

"The Destiny Beta is a test. Make no mistake. This isn’t some circus stunt. This is science – and you’re the lab rat," wrote the team on the official blog.

"We’d love to tell you that everything will go according to plan, but that wouldn’t be any fun. That wouldn’t teach us a thing. Even if the Beta is working perfectly, one of the alpha-geeks in the operations center is gonna kick it to see if it still works. Fortunately, we’ll be going to great lengths to keep you informed and keep you in the game."

As well as pointing users to a help site, Bungie also advised players to keep an eye on the official Bungie Help Twitter account.

The Destiny beta kicks of on July 17th for PlayStation owners and will include four story missions, four multiplayer maps and a co-op mission.
