Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter brings changes to Eververse, rocket and grenade launchers boosted

Bungie has outlined some additional changes to expect when Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter launches next week.

Grenade and rocket launchers will receive a nice boost when Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter goes live next week. Bungie is also removing the Prismatic Matrix with its Eververse revamp, and some of the new items are pretty sharp.

According to Bungie, a "well-rolled" Legendary Power weapon should be able to "compete in raw damage with an Exotic Power weapon." To that end, when 2.2.0 releases next week, the gap between the two won't be as wide in some instances. With Season of the Drifter, you won't feel 'forced' in a sense to run an Exotic in any specific slot, according to Bungie.

Like many weapons in the update, this change will affect different types, including grenade and rocket launchers.

With grenade launchers, you can expect PvE damage to increase by 25% and reserve ammo will also be increased on most. Many have gained three rounds in reserves but it also varies based on the perks chosen. Magazine perks and mods will also no longer affect ammo reserves.

PvE damage has also been increased for rocket launchers by 60-65%. Exotic Rocket Launchers have had their damage tuned separately.

You will find Cluster Bomb had its damage reduced by 80%, and the lost damage was moved to the rocket launcher's main projectile.

According to Bungie, rocket launchers were "entirely too dependent on Cluster Bombs," to be effective. By moving most of the damage of Cluster Bombs into the rocket itself, rocket launchers will now be "more reliable and more effective," all around. This will prove especially true against aerial targets Cluster Bombs would "almost never damage."

Moving on to Eververse, Bungie is removing the Prismatic Matrix, so if you have any left, be sure to use them up by March 5.

After the beginning of the new season, they will turn into Expired Prismatic Facets and will dismantle into 150 Bright Dust. The Bright Dust Storefront will also continue to offer a direct path to acquiring items found within Bright Engrams.

With the removal of Prismatic Matrix, every week you will find unique bundles available which can be purchased for Silver, allowing you to buy exactly the items you want.

All unique bundles will also contain an "exclusive vanity item" available only through that weekly bundle.

Below is just a sample of the new items you will see in next Season’s Bright Engram.
