Destiny 2: no Faction Rallies or Trials in Season of the Forge

The Black Armory DLC begins on December 4, but the Trials of the Nine and Faction Rally modes won’t be returning in Season of the Forge.

Community Manager Cozmo confirmed in a Reddit thread that the two modes, which originated in Destiny 1, will not be returning this Season.

Due to waning popularity, the modes were pulled ahead of Season 4 and it’s likely we won’t be seeing them until March at the earliest.

Players have questioned whether the modes will be coming back as there is an achievement called “Meet an emissary from beyond” that can only be unlocked by competing in the Trials. Cozmo responded to this query by saying that they are adding a new way to complete this achievement that will be available with the Black Armory patch.

Bungie has promised to update fans when the Trials of the Nine and Faction Rally modes are due to return, so we’ll keep you posted.

A host of new Exotic weapons are coming to Destiny 2 with the Black Armory update, including new Pinnacle weapons, forges and quests to complete. If you’re still working your way through the Dreaming City, check out our ultimate Destiny 2 guide here.
