Destiny 2: Forsaken roadmap outlines post-launch content plans into summer 2019

Bungie has provided a roadmap of post-launch content updates for Destiny 2: Forsaken.

When Destiny 2: Forsaken releases next week it will kick off the Season of the Outlaw. Subsequent Seasons will follow for the remainder of the year, as outlined in a roadmap released today.

The roadmap Bungie provided doesn't contain any real spoilers, so there shouldn't be any reason to worry over looking through it. The studio said it's just a "broad sense of what's to come," after all. The studio discussed the contents in a vidoc which we posted below alongside pertinent information.

After Season of the Outlaw concludes, additional three-month Seasons will contain a month-over-month roll out of events, rewards, activities and more - all free to Destiny 2 players.

Annual Pass content will release throughout the year alongside free Seasons.

For Annual Pass holders, Black Armory, Joker’s Wild and Penumbra will offer different experiences consisting of new endgame activities, modes, discovery, and challenges. These will "escalate, ebb, and flow over time," and each will offer prestigious rewards. Each deliver multiple beats which will span the length of a Season.

Black Armory kicks the annual pass content off in December. Here, players will "discover weapons of Light and Fury," as they gain access to the armory. A new Activity, Forges of the Chain, is included.

As previously reported, Joker’s Wild is slated for spring 2019, and Penumbra will release in summer 2019. As with Black Armory, each feature new endgame challenges, armor, weapons, Triumphs, Exotics, activities, lore, and more.

The Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass will run you $34.99 or the regional equivalent if you already own the base game. Destiny 2: Forsaken requires the base game and both Year 1 expansions, which is how things worked with Destiny 1.

If you don't own the prior expansions to the game, or the game in general, you can pick up the lot for $59.99.

The Destiny 2 Year 2 roadmap is posted below, but here are some highlights:

  • September 18 - The Iron Banner returns with the new Crucible map The Convergence
  • September 25 - New Crucible mode Breakthrough releases alongside new Crucible maps
  • October - Festival of the Lost returns - with a "twist"
  • Other - Weekly playlist updates, the Evolution of the Dreaming City, "additional surprises"

The Dreaming City mentioned above is just one of the new destinations in Forsaken. It will “evolve over time," and this is where the first Raid, Last Wish, takes place. The raid promises a greater number of bosses than prior raids. Last Wish will be available starting Friday, September 14 at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm BST.

You can get a look at The Dreaming City in yet another video release today below.
