Destiny 2 Forsaken bug lets you glitch into raid area early

A Destiny 2: Forsaken glitch is letting players snatch up loot chests a little earlier than Bungie planned.

Update: Bungie's latest Destiny 2 update has stopped players accessing the raid chest in the glitch discovered earlier this week.

"Players have found their way into Raid spaces and claimed gear from bonus chests," read the devs' blog post. "Those chests are being suppressed until we can properly isolate them to Raid activities. None of the rewards they have granted will be rescinded."

Players who have already used the glitch to access the raid chest and snaffle up the gear won't be getting their inventory purged, but it's not clear whether the gear's stats, which were fairly unimpressive pre-raid, will change when the raid goes live this Friday, or whether the players who snuck in early will have to replace their pre-raid gear pieces.

Original story: Destiny 2: Forsaken launched last week, but its raid - The Last Wish - isn't arriving until Friday. But that hasn't stopped some players from trying to access raid content. What's surprising is some have actually succeeded.

As described on Reddit, it seems it's possible to glitch into the raid area near the Dreaming City's large bridge. What's more, an exploration of the area revealed a raid chest that unlocks high-end gear for players. Bungie had previously said the raid region would have rewards for solo players, so that's likely what was found.

Bungie will likely correct this glitch soon, but if you want to check it out here are the steps (courtesy of Rifle Gaming).

Near the entrance to Rheasilvia, the Dreaming City, there is a small opening in an otherwise blocked cave. Heading into this opening reveals a space underneath the map where you can jump from ledge to ledge. You'd almost this this was an intended Easter Egg - until you start walking through uncompleted environments with invisible walkways that should drop into nothingness.

After a few minutes, you'll arrive in the raid area proper, which you can explore without worrying about enemies. If you can make it to the bridge, there is even a hidden raid chest you can open if you drop to a ledge on the other side. Any weapons you obtain will be locked until the raid opens, but it's a nice early reward for players who find it.

Bungie has released more details about its upcoming Festival of the Lost which will feature a Haunted Forest, a quest to find Master Ives and a costume party!

Destiny 2: Forsaken's raid, The Last Wish, launches at 1pm ET on September 14, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
