Bungie tweaks Destiny 2 rewards for Dreaming City and The Moon

The studio wants to incentivise people returning to older areas.

Destiny 2 maker Bungie is trying to make players want to visit The Moon and Dreaming City areas once again.

In an update on its website, the studio said that it was reissuing the Reverie Dawn and Moon Dreambane armour for the Dreaming City. These apparently drop with high stats when earnt in Shattered Throne or Pit of Heresy. Furthermore, the final chest in Pit of Heresy won't drop the Masterworked Dreambane armor piece anymore.

To replace this, the Dreambane armor piece that players will find now comes with seven armour energy and comes with higher stats overall, as well as two stats being buffed +16.

Players in Dreaming City will also be able to pick up four weapons that Bungie is reissuing; Waking Vigil, Sleepless, Vouchsafe, and Retold Tale.

The studio is also reissuing four weapons for The Moon: Heretic, Blasphemer, and Apostate, as well as Premonition, but this is only available in Pit of Heresy. As another incentive to revisit The Moon, Bungie is also expanding the Legend and Master Lost Sector rotations to four sectors; K1 Logistics, K1 Communication, K1 Crew Quarters, and K1 Revelation.

"We are making these changes to help preserve the relevancy of the destinations, specifically some of the pinnacle end-game activities that still exist there," Bungie's rewards area lead Justin Dazet wrote.

"To get more specific around the actual experience, activities, where re-issues are acquired, will be heavily weighted towards rewarding re-issued gear over capped gear -- though the exact weighting and mechanisms may differ. For example: In the Dreaming City if you have already obtained an infusion capped weapon, it will not drop for you again."

Bungie has said that crossplay is coming to Destiny 2 at some point in 2021.
