Dedicated Twitch app launches on PS4

PlayStation 4 users can now finally watch Twitch livestreams through a new dedicated app.

Sony has added a dedicated, much-requested Twitch app to PS4.

Twitch streaming - as well as Ustream - were both available for PlayStation 4 users to broadcast games since the hardware's launch. Watching them, however, has been done through a system-level app called Live from PlayStation, or through the built-in web browser.

At TwitchCon last month, Twitch announced that all PlayStation systems would get a new dedicated, fully-featured app for the job, similar to the one found on Xbox One.

PlayStation 4 is the first to receive this app, which looks almost identical to its Xbox One counterpart.

The app is available now on the North American PSN, and will hit other stores following their respective update times.

A PS3 and Vita launch will happen coming later this fall. Get more info from the Official Twitch Blog.
